When you’re running a business, it’s easy to focus on day-to-day problems and forget the bigger picture. However, successful businesses invest time to create and manage budgets, prepare and review business plans and regularly monitor finance and performance.

Structured planning can make all the difference to the growth of your business. It will enable you to concentrate your resources on improving profits, reducing costs and increasing returns on investment.

Renting a Serviced Office at Hyde Park House can benefit your business in the following ways:

  1. Day-to-day problems which are difficult to budget for, such as security, premises management, dealing with utility companies and staffing issues are all taken care of by the Business Centre Team.
  2. Serviced office rental includes a licence fee with options that can cover items such as office rent, utilities, service charge, car-parking, virtual reception and secretarial services, furniture and meeting room hire.  All this means that you know exactly how much your business running costs are going to be; unforeseen costs and overspending can prove fatal to any business, especially in the current economic climate.

Many small businesses have one overall operating budget which sets out how much money is needed to run the business over the coming period – usually a year.  The service fees at Hyde Park House on office rental contracts are for up to 18 months, ensuring you can forward plan.

If you wish to discuss your company’s office accommodation budget further please contact our Business Centre Manager on 0161 367 9000.

Civic Mayor of Tameside visits Hyde Park HouseThe Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr John Sullivan and party visited a number of Hyde based businesses in March including three businesses in ‘one stop’ at the Hyde Park House Business Centre at Cartwright Street, Hyde.

Each year, the Mayor of Tameside, makes visits to employers in the Borough. The visits demonstrate the importance of these and similar employers to the local economy, and enable the companies to find out the range of support they may receive via the Council and its partner agencies.

The Civic Mayor was impressed with the range of facilities – “I am so pleased to have visited this centre and seen for myself the excellent business environment in the wonderful location of Hyde, although it is practically on my doorstep I was fascinated to find out the reach of some of the businesses located there – some servicing specialist international markets and others developing a loyal local customer base – the centre reflects everything positive about the Borough of Tameside, the willingness to be inventive, to strive and for businesses to  work together for mutual success.”

Hyde Park Business Centre offers flexible serviced office space from 150 – 7,000 sq ft including virtual office and e-space with full virtual assistant services: A prestigious address, virtual office services including telephone answering available on site and just a short distance from Manchester and Stockport, with access to the M60 motorway, the national rail network and Manchester Airport.

Five Top Tips to save your business money in 2010.

Posted February 9th, 2010 by your virtual office assistant

Relocate your office space to save moneyThere is talk about green shoots of recovery and that the UK is out of recession, but if you run a business this talk may seem a little premature. Businesses that survive a recession are often stronger and more profitable than before; this is because they’ve reassessed all aspects of their business and reduced their cost base. When recovery comes, a reduced cost base leads to greater profits: If you haven’t done so already you should consider:

  1. Change office space: Moving out of city centre or high profile office space can reduce your rental costs by up to 60%, you may also benefit from lower business rates, employment costs and parking charges. Choosing a modern, purpose built complex may also reduce your utilities charges. Look for accommodation that is on the outskirts of city or town centres with good motorway links and access to the transport network; buses, trains and planes.
  2. Take advantage of reduced prices: The cost of many raw materials is now lower than ever; therefore a lower price could be negotiated for many regular supplies. Although sales are usually on consumer goods, many business suppliers are trying to attract extra custom with the same tactic: Sales can now be found on everything from office furniture to photocopier paper.
  3. Re-evaluate your personnel requirements: Do you really need a full time secretary?  Making use of ‘pay as you go’ staff and virtual office services, offered by many business centres, can seriously reduce your staffing costs and employment headaches!
  4. Introduce programmes that encourage healthy living: Your employee’s good health should reduce absenteeism and could drive down insurance costs.  Consider offering discounted gym membership or install a cycle rack and encourage employees to cycle to work.
  5. Cut down on meetings: Travelling to and from meetings incurs many hidden costs; travel costs, subsistence and the opportunity costs of the person’s time.  Use technology; conference calls, video conferencing and webinars are very simple to use and extremely cost effective. This approach will also reduce your company’s carbon footprint.

Manchester, the Business Centre of Europe.

Posted November 26th, 2009 by your virtual office assistant

Office space to rent close to Manchester Airport

For the second year running the British Travel Awards have presented Manchester Airport with the trophy for ‘UK Airport of the Year’. Knowing this, together with the fact that the Airport has invested £millions in developments that have included speeding up security processes in order to keep passengers moving, is fantastic news for everyone who uses Manchester Airport for business travel.

Where in the World?

Getting to and through the airport used to take longer than the flight to many European destinations, but no more; from an office based in South Manchester, you could be doing business in one of these top 10 European cities by lunchtime:

  1. Paris; Only one hour 30 minutes in the air; giving you plenty of time for a business lunch that could easily take all afternoon!
  2. Lyon; a two hour flight prepares you for a four hour lunch in what some consider the gastro-capital of France.
  3. Amsterdam; Just a short one hour 25 minute flight means you could get two or three appointments in a day, but remember canal taxis are slow.
  4. Dublin; Only an hour’s flight before you’re in the convivial company of the Irish, beware of meetings over-running.
  5. Munich; Germans like to know what’s going on, after your two hour flight, call ahead with your estimated arrival time.
  6. Brussels; Stay for dinner, most Belgians eat before 7pm, leaving plenty of time for the one hour 30 minute flight home.
  7. Geneva; In a country renowned for its timepieces, be punctual; your flight is 1 hour 50 minutes.
  8. Zurich; Use your 1 hour 55 minutes in the air to read up on World News; a favourite opening conversation in Switzerland.
  9. Milan; As the fashion capital of the World, make sure you make a good impression and have time to smarten up after your 2 hours 20 minute flight.
  10. Stockholm; It is considered very rude to be late in Sweden; it’s easy to be punctual after your 2 hours 25 minute flight.
